COUNTRY MUSIC ARTIST MATT DYLAN PERFORMS AT MARKET SQUARE

July 17, 2010
- July 17, 2010
Market Square in downtown Reidsville will be filled with country music as Matt Dylan and Midnight Steel perform Saturday, July 17. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. with local classic rock musicians, The Swell. Dylan hits the stage at 8:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
Dylan, the son of a factory worker and a mother who worked in a school cafeteria, knew early on who and what he wanted to be. Inspired by the likes of Elvis, Roy Orbison, Waylon, Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard, Dylan’s journey began. To date, Matt has had the opportunity to open and tour with artists such as: Rascal Flatts, Montgomery Gentry, Aaron Tippin, Pat Green, Walt Wilkins, Jamey Johnson, Rockie Lynne, Billy Joe Royal, Delbert McClinton, The Lost Trailers, Shooter Jennings, Trace Adkins and many others. If you were to trace Matt Dylan’s roots back to rural North Carolina, you would find the definition of “grew up country.” Born and raised on a large farm, evenings and weekends were spent in the fields, cutting wood, feeding the chickens and helping tend to the farm. A lot of folks CLAIM they are country, but Matt Dylan IS.
Matt’s debut album was released in January and features the song “Carolina Moonshine,” a soundtrack for the movie “Red Dirt Rising.” Also performing will be local classic rock group, The Swell, playing music from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s.
The concert begins at 6. Bring your lawn chair or blanket. Food vendors will be on site.
