The Cutting Board Plans Grand Opening in Downtown Reidsville -

Downtown Reidsville, NC – The Reidsville Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the grand opening of The Cutting Board on June 29, 2010. The Cutting Board is located at the corner of Scales and Morehead streets in the historic Bank of Reidsville building.
The restaurant is well known for its unique salad bar and fresh cut steaks. It will provide residents with a fine dining experience and banquet facilities in the heart of Reidsville’s revitalized downtown district.
The arrival of The Cutting Board is representative of the growth and entrepreneurial spirit driving the communities of Rockingham County, and residents have been eagerly anticipating this event.
The grand opening falls on the anniversary of the original building contract between the Bank of Reidsville and Dietrick & Pearson Contractors to “build, finish, and complete a two story bank and office building on the corner of Morehead and Scales streets in the city of Reidsville, NC”. This contract was signed on June 29, 1894 and 116 years later the building has been the subject of as much conversation today as it was then.
The Cutting Board embodies the values of its enthusiastic customers by respecting the past, while turning a welcome eye to the future.
The Cutting Board was started by Maurice Jennings, and originally opened in 1969 as The Patrician on South Church Street in Burlington N.C. It eventually moved in 1974 to Alamance Road in Burlington N.C. After it was destroyed by fire in 2003 it reopened in 2007 on Ramada Road in Burlington. Reidsville will be its second location with another scheduled to open later this year in Kernersville.
The Cutting Board partner John Burton says regarding the successful restaurant’s expansion from Burlington into Reidsville, “The Reidsville community has been very supportive in our program. This is one of the main reasons we decided to go into Reidsville. We believe the downtown revitalization will support our restaurant very well. The ribbon cutting will take place on June 28th at 5.30 pm. We would like for anyone to come and meet our staff and for us to meet you. We look forward to being a part of Reidsville.”
