Rockingham Community College Training
New and Expanding Industry Training (NEIT)
- Provides customized training programs in support of
new, full-time production positions created in North
Carolina.
- Provides training to support
the expansion of companies already located
in the state.
- Prepares workers with skills essential
for successful employment
in emerging industries.
Who Qualifies?
- Companies creating 12 or more
production jobs in excess of their previous 3 year
maximum employment level qualify—both new and
expanding companies.
Focused
Industrial Training (FIT)
- Provides
customized training and services for manufacturing
industries to help them become more productive
and competitive;
- Assists industries with training
needs assessment;
- Assists in the development of
company or industry specific plans for training;
- Provides
training for incumbent workers.
How is FIT beneficial
and who does it benefit?
- The training benefits workers
who need to update their skills and technical knowledge
because of technical changes in the workplace.
- The
instruction is customized to focus on specific
training needs.
Who is eligible for FIT services?
- Companies
that manufacture products and/or process industrial
material.

Rockingham
County Business & Technology
Center
Located in Wentworth, the BTC helps develop
and grow businesses and entrepreneurships
in Rockingham County by bridging the gap between
technology and business management. The
BTC offers a range of services to small businesses
from office functions, office space, conference rooms,
computer lab and public Internet access. The
center also provides consulting services in Web site
design, PC/network support, database design, business
planning, marketing and financial analysis.

North Carolina Department of Commerce
The Department of Commerce is the State of North Carolina's
lead agency for economic, community and workforce development.
The Department also has under its auspices the information
technology function for state government and agencies
which regulate commerce in the state. The mission
of the Department of Commerce is to improve the economic
well being and quality of life for all North Carolinians. The
Department of Commerce can provide companies with data and research related to
operating a business in North Carolina.
Capital Associated
Industries
CAI is the non-profit employers’ association
serving the greater Research Triangle, Piedmont Triad,
and the 65 eastern counties of North Carolina. Based
in Raleigh and Greensboro, CAI provides 1,200 member
companies with management information, day-to-day telephone
guidance, training and Human Resources Services.
JobLink
This service provided by the NC Department of Commerce
provides businesses and employers assistance with labor
recruitment, downsizings, education and training, and
expanding. JobLink also provides career centers
throughout the state and the one-of-a-kind Job
Resource and Training Center in
Madison in Rockingham County.
